I visited Partridge Island and was excited to see what sort of graffiti would be over there. It was dark in many of the buildings but there were a few neat paintings.

Balloons
I saw some neat photos about a visual artist in New York who has been creating "graffiti" with balloons. An articles and photos are at Gawker.com.

Favourite Target

I saw this sticker posted on a sign on Bentley Street, where the Harbour Passage leads to the museum archives. This one targets Irving Oil - a favourite target of the Saint John stickerers.
I thought the placement on the natural pipeline sign was a little ironic, as natural gas is supposed to be a cleaner alternative to oil.

Growth
Here's another sticker I saw while going about town. This one seems to be implying that the economics growth in Saint John is toxic. This could be a reaction to the massive move toward the Energy Hub and its endorsement by many groups and government officials.
The placement of the sticker is likely wise at reaching the converted and or most easy to convert. The sticker is on a look out at Harbour Passage (as illustrated on the top), a spot for outdoorsy types and those trying to use motorized travel less to walk along the harbour.

Graffiti

I started and abandoned a project a few years back to photograph graffiti in and around the city. I ws at Fort Defferin and was impressed with some of the painting on the remnants of the structures and thought I'd give it another try. Here are two photos I took around Fort Dufferin. The first is a pretty cool painting, and the second is neat in its context - it works as directions to Partidge Island.
